​Following his degree majoring in Accounting and Economics at the School of Management, University of Manchester, Johnny has been in practise for almost 25 years.

Having commenced his career in practise with Goldblatt McGuigan in the early 1990's, Johnny then practised with BDO for 16 years. At BDO, Johnny headed up the Forensic Accounting and Corporate Finance & Valuation Teams in Northern Ireland and sat on the BDO UK National Forensic Accounting Partners' Grouping and the UK Family Law Group,

From 2012 to date, Johnny has acted as Principal to Webb and Co. Chartered and Forensic Accountants who in turn are the sole NI Forensic and Accounting firm for NIFA - the UK Network of Independent Forensic Accountants.

Over the years at BDO, and Webb and Co., Johnny has acted as Expert Witness, Single Joint Expert and Expert Determiner in a wide variety of cases in the UK with quantum levels varying from £300k to £70 million.

 

Experience

A regular lecturer and article writer on current trends in business valuations, Johnny has sought to bring across his practical “on the ground” business valuation and forensic accounting experience gained over the past 20+ years to help to provide practical and workable solutions to a wide spectrum of ancillary relief, shareholder and partnership disputes and other litigation support roles.

Johnny is a believer in the importance of building strong working relationships at an early stage with his instructing solicitors and Counsel in each case and sees the benefit of highlighting the key issues at an early stage.

Johnny has acted as Expert Witness, Single Joint Expert and Expert Determiner in a wide variety of cases and business sectors and has always sought to bring clear, commercial and pragmatic advice to the matters in hand.

Until recently stepping down, Johnny had, for many years, sat on the Main Committee for the Chartered  Accountants Ulster Society and held various posts within the Society, including, most recently, Honorary Treasurer.
